Vacancy for Catering Assistant

16 hours per week
The role of a catering assistant is to assist the catering coordinator in maintaining kitchen and café standards. You will also be responsible for hygiene and cleanliness within the cafe. You will also take over the catering coordinators duties to cover holiday and sickness. Catering assistants are also responsible for carrying out food preparation tasks, such as washing and preparing food for the day, as well as operate machinery.
The ideal Catering Assistant candidates will:

Have previous experience working in a catering environment.
Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
Be attentive and proactive with the ability to respond quickly to needs of the customers.
Be organised and keep calm under pressure.
Be able to operate as part of a team, working alongside and help support volunteers.
Have a knowledge of allergens.
Be available to help with events as required.

Farewell Service for Revd Tim Norwood, Milton Keynes Area Dean: 6.00 pm Sunday, 5 March 2023

Revd Tim Norwood is taking up a new role as National Adviser on Local Ecumenism for the Church of England, based in Lambeth Palace, starting on 1 May 2023. He will be leaving his post as Area Dean of Milton Keynes, a post which he has held for sixteen years, during which time he has been a great friend to the Church of Christ the Cornerstone.

Revd Tim Norwood’s final service as Area Dean will be at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone at 6:00 pm on the evening of Sunday, 5 March 2023. This Service will be Evensong. There will be a presentation,  and after the Service there will be refreshments. All are invited to attend. The Service will also be live-streamed.

Special Commemoration Service in memory of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh 2.00 pm Friday, 16 April 2021

There will be a local Commemoration Service for the Duke of Edinburgh, which will be broadcast from Cornerstone at 2:00 pm on Friday afternoon. This will be attended by the Lord Lieutenant, the High Sheriff, the Mayor and our two MPs – with contributions from other faith communities. There will be no congregation in the building, but it will be streamed live on the Cornerstone YouTube channel.
