Prayer of the Week 24 October 2021

All seeing God, you are so far beyond our understanding, yet you want to meet with us.
You call us into your presence, as the crowd called the blind man to come to Jesus.
We come to you now, mighty Lord, gathered expectantly, ready to worship and learn from you.
May we have eyes open to see you and hearts willing to be seen by you.
Amen

Good morning Living Stones family. This is Day the Lord as made, let us all be glad and rejoice in it. Having gone through the effects of the deadly Covid-19, one thing that it taught me was the importance of self-care. I embarked on walking and running and that has now become part of my life....

inspire and direct us – in Jesus’ name.

Let’s begin...

Morning Prayer Friday, 8 October 2021

Hello everyone. Welcome to our Friday prayers. Today, I am going to begin our prayer time together with a reading from The Psalms – Psalm 8.  This Psalm seems particularly appropriate to read at this time of year, though, of course, we can be aware of God’s majesty and grandeur at any time. 1 Lord, our Lord,...

Morning Prayer Thursday, 7 October 2021

A reading from the Book of Job 12 ‘Have you ever given orders to the morning,   or shown the dawn its place, 13 that it might take the earth by the edges   and shake the wicked out of it? 14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;   its features stand out like those of a garment. 15 The...

Morning Prayer Wednesday, 6 October 2021

Good morning, Cornerstone friends, and welcome to our time together to reflect and pray. On this day the Church remembers the work and witness of Martin Tyndale, translator of the Bible into the English language, who was martyred in 1536. Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and in misery. Preserve...

Sermon for Harvest Sunday, 3 October 2021

By Revd George Mwaura Ecclesiastes 11: 1–6 Invest in Many Ventures 1 Ship your grain across the sea; after many days you may receive a return. 2 Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land. 3 If clouds are full of water, they pour rain on the earth. Whether...

Lord of Harvest, who has graciously given us the fruits of the earth in their season;
we come before your holy presence with humility and thankful hearts for your constant provision.
By your Spirit plant within us such reverence for all that you give us and teach us to be wise stewards of the fruits we enjoy.
Grant us the same grace to use the gifts you have given us for the relief of those in need, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
