Morning Prayers Monday, 20 April 2020
Welcome to morning prayer.
I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.’
Psalm 91: 2
O, Lord we come to praise you.
As the night ends, so a new day begins.
Let us pray together:
Another day the Lord has made.
Thank you, that we are to be a part in it,
that you will be with us in all that we will do.
May we reflect that you are with us
and show the love that joins us today and always.
Amen
Listen, I will tell you a mystery!
We will not all die, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkle of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
When this perishable body puts on immortality ,then the saying that is written will be fulfilled:
‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’
‘Where, O death, is your victory?
Where oh death is your sting?’
The sting of death is sin,and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord; because you know in the Lord your Labour is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15: 51–end
The Lord is risen!
Amen
… to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1: 79
To you be the glory, O Lord!
Amen
People of God, proclaim our risen Lord.
Take care of all that the Lord has created,
especially those entrusted to care for the sick, the frail and the disoriented.
That the light of Christ will shine on those who despair and live in darkness; bring hope.
Let this be throughout the world, the community and all the people you have created.
Amen
