Link to Counselling Directory

At Christ the Cornerstone we have a team of Pastoral Workers, whose task is to respond to the needs of anyone who comes into our church seeking help, or simply wanting to talk to someone about an issue or difficulty they are facing. Although we are often able to help in a small and immediate way, there are many cases that are beyond our capabilities and resources. This is where we need to refer the person to more professional help and the Counselling Directory is a source of information about what is available. There is now a link to the Counselling Directory on the Links page of this website and the same link is also at the foot of this post.

Counselling Directory is a confidential service that encourages those in distress to seek help. It aims to be the leading service for providing counselling advice and information – connecting those in distress with the largest support network in the United Kingdom.

Since the directory was launched in 2005, it has grown rapidly in both size and popularity and the Counselling Directory team continue to work hard at building the directory around the feedback they receive from both the counsellors and psychotherapists who choose to list themselves in the directory, and individuals who are searching for a counsellor.

The directory contains information on many different types of distress, as well as articles, news, and events. To ensure the professionalism of the website, all counsellors have provided Counselling Directory with qualifications and insurance cover or proof of membership with a professional body. The Counselling Directory is at: http://www.counselling-directory.org.uk.
