I am the Resurrection and the Life
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a historic fact. It is the foundation of Christian expectation and hope, and this hope is found only in the risen Lord and the Easter story. There is ample evidence that Jesus is the Son of God. When Mary would have held on to Jesus after His Resurrection, He told her,
‘Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, “I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God”.’
John 20: 17
Loving Father, please deliver us through this disastrous time.
You are the Father of Light and not of darkness;
please shine your healing light and guide us through this darkness.
We are called to be an Easter people all year round.
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Colossians 3: 12–14
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4: 8
Amen
