Good Morning Livingstones Family!!
We give thanks to God for giving us yet another day. Let us be glad and rejoice in it.
Walking down my road these nights is such a beauty – watching all the nicely decorated houses with the Christmas lights of all colours and designs. It brings the community to one spirit of togetherness; common question around is “Are you ready for Christmas?” Showing great hope and anticipation of something special coming up. That’s the beauty of Advent season.
Word of God
1 Corinthians 4-9
4 I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge— 6 God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you. 7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 8 He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Words of Wisdom
In Church Advent marks the beginning of our church year leading to the arrival of Christ Our Saviour who is God revealing Himself in a human body for us to be saved. As candles of Hope, Love, Joy & Peace are lit on Sundays they are signs of what we receive in Christ with faith. Advent brings us closer to Christ who is with us. We are reminded that no one is beyond the reach of God’s love. We wait with joy for the Lord, the hope of the world. We are called to reach out with love to our sisters and brothers in need, sharing our hope for a world transformed. Are we reaching out to our neighbours remembering the less privileged by supporting Christ Church Cornerstone Christmas appeal? We wait in Hope and Anticipation for Christ’s second coming with great power and Glory – are our hearts and lives ready for His second coming?
Let Us Pray:
God of hope, we cling to you, through the gift of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us to lead each other back to your open arms. Loving and compassionate God, help us to see hope and to uphold the value of others in our words and actions. Help us to know and to respond to Your guiding hand in our lives. As we embrace this Advent Season, please open our eyes to see the great value and blessing of Your Incarnation and discover Your hidden presence. When You came on earth, You showed the world that every human life matter and that every person’s potential can be fulfilled and that there is hope for a better kind of world. Father God; come to us again this Christmas, come and bring Your Hope.
God of Love, Your son, Jesus, is Your greatest gift to us. He is a sign of Your love. Help us walk in that love during these weeks of Advent, as we wait and prepare for His coming. We pray that You will help us focus our eyes on You, the light of the world. Lord, we ask that You will cause us to be ready to welcome and receive You. As Your word says, that the God of hope Himself, would fill us with all joy and peace by the power of the Holy Spirit. We pray all this in the Name of Jesus, our Saviour. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Blessings. Have a Wonderful Day.
