Prayers for the Day, Thursday

Thank you Lord for a night’s rest, our bodies refreshed, our ears ready to hear and listen to your voice.   “Speak your word Lord, we are listening.”

God is love, He created us all, His love is priceless.  We are the people of God, His chosen race.

Our prayers today is taken from the Good News Bible

Colossians 3: 12-17

12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

13 Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.

14 And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity.

15 The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.

16 Christ’s message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct each other with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts.

17 Everything you do or say, then, should be done in the name of the Lord Jesus, as you give thanks through him to God the Father.

Psalm 24

The world and all that is in it belong to the LORD;
the earth and all who live on it are his.
He built it on the deep waters beneath the earth
and laid its foundations in the ocean depths.

Who has the right to go up the LORD’s hill?
Who may enter his holy Temple?
Those who are pure in act and in thought,
who do not worship idols
or make false promises.
The LORD will bless them and save them;
God will declare them innocent.
Such are the people who come to God,
who come into the presence of the God of Jacob.

Fling wide the gates,
open the ancient doors,
and the great king will come in.
Who is this great king?
He is the LORD, strong and mighty,
the LORD, victorious in battle.

Fling wide the gates,
open the ancient doors,
and the great king will come in.
10 Who is this great king?
The triumphant LORD — he is the great king!

As we begin the new day, may we accept guidance from the Lord, so that we act with humility, learn from our mistakes, and listen to the voice of those who cry out to us for assistance,

Fill us with light so that we turn our concern into action that will make a difference in this world

We thank you Lord for friends, our ministers, Church wardens, the choir, those who assist at the Sunday school, all who help out in any way.

We ask you Lord to guide the King, Charles the III, and the Queen Consort, the Prime Minister and politicians who govern the country.

We pray today for people of the world that all may live in peace and unity

May the Lord bless us all the days of our lives

We end our prayers today, by reciting the Lord’s prayer in your own language or words that will draw you closer to God the Almighty Father
