Loving God, we look for peace, but find it hard to see.
We look for hope, but find it hard to believe.
We look for love, but find the cost too great.
Help us to know that you believe
that each of us is worth
whatever it might take.

Amen

Help us today, Lord,
to remember you are with us.

Sometimes our lives feel so busy.

Give us reminders of your presence
and help us to notice them.

As we move from one task to another,
may we stop for a moment
to lift our hearts to you.

Amen

Loving God, we thank you for coming amongst us
as light for our world;
making real your initiative of love,
proclaiming your offer of forgiveness
and calling us to share your cross-bound road.

We pray that we may be ready to respond, in Jesus’ name.

Amen

Almighty God, who called your Church to witness
that you were in Christ reconciling the world to yourself:
help us to proclaim the good news of your love,
that all who hear it may be drawn to you;
through him who was lifted up on the cross, and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Amen

Thank you God for understanding us,
for being ready to forgive, not to condemn,
for coming among us, to show us your way,
for teaching us in love and compassion, not judgement,
for giving us a way to life and hope.

Amen

Loving God,
help us to hope for the best, believe in the best,
seek to live as if the kingdom has come!
May we know you with us in this chaotic world,
and so be able to support one another,
accepting each other in love, and with grace.

Amen

Gracious God, in the bright, multi-coloured glory of creation, and the heartbeat rhythm of the seasons, we live in the light of Christ, our days and ways illuminated by your Spirit.

We bring our darkness and our brightness; all the shades and colours of our lives; our winter, spring, summer, autumn before you now in worship.

We pray that, as we seek to draw near to you, we will know you near us now and with us as we go.

Christ our Lord,
you challenge your friends to find your presence in the face of a powerless child;
help us to bring in your Kingdom which turns our craving into giving, our arguing into service,
for the glory of the One who sent you.

Amen

God of refuge and sanctuary,
help us to be a people who welcome others,
share the good gifts you’ve given us,
and care for the wellbeing of all your children.
We ask this in the name of Jesus,
the one who lived, loved, died and rose again
to liberate the oppressed and set humanity free.
Amen

Lord God, thank you that you hear us when we call to you.
Help us to overcome our fears and be sure of our welcome.
Help us to listen to you and to those who speak to us from the world around us.
May we be ready to respond with love.

Amen

Eternal God, may we never hold on to that which it is time to let go.

May we sit lightly to ritual, while holding it dear,
celebrating both tradition and change.

May your Holy Spirit cleanse us of all hypocrisy
and free us to be your voice, and hands and feet,
in a world ever changing, but ever constant in its need for your healing and reconciling love.

Lord, it is your faith in us that nourishes us, not our faith in you, for our faith is weak.

It is your prayers that sustain us, not our prayers, for we are slow to pray.

It is your abiding in us that gives us eternal life, not our abiding in you, for we are inconsistent.

Lord, it is you we come to today;
receive us, heal us, help us.

Amen

God, help us to see that you are a God of flesh and blood;
a God of beauty and grace.

Help us, in our struggle to look at the cross, not to turn away.

Inspire in us a spirit of thankfulness, and a passion to share the truth of your love for the world.

We ask this in Jesus name.

We come to you, Lord Jesus,
for the hunger of our longing to be filled;
for our thirst for truth to be quenched;
for our relationship with you to be deepened;
for our lives to be blessed by your living presence.

We come to you, Lord Jesus, with thankful hearts.

Amen

Lord, give us eyes to see – really see;
hearts that believe – really believe;
minds that understand – really understand;
and lives that proclaim you as the living bread to all who are in any kind of need.
