Prayer of the Week 5 September 2021

Creator God, you spoke into the silence and darkness, blowing clean life-giving air into space, warmth and life engulfed your creation. Solid ground formed out of gushing water and life appeared. You lovingly created the world and us. Now you look with sadness at the mess we have made of your creation and our desperate attempts...

Prayer of the Week 29 August 2021

Loving God, may we be as those who abide with you;
those who walk blamelessly and do what is right;
those who speak truth from their heart, who do not slander with their tongue
and do no evil to their friends.
Then shall we never be moved from your presence.
Amen

Prayer of the Week 22 August 2021

God of the unknown journey, you call us to follow you,
even though we do not know where you might lead us.
You do not provide us a map, but you do offer yourself as guide and travelling companion.
You do not promise an easy path, blue skies, warm sun and pleasant company.
You simply asked us to follow you.
But you provide the nourishment and strength we need for the journey
and for that, Lord, we honour and glorify your name.
Amen

Prayer of the Week 15 August 2021

Jesus, our living bread, we have an appetite for you, and we come wanting to feed on your word.
Jesus, you offer life to the world, eternal life, raising us up on the last day.
Keep us hungry for you, with the anticipation of a feast of the finest food – food that brings life.
Amen

Prayer of the Week 8 August 2021

Limitless God, thank you that we cannot contain you, that you are unfathomable and always up to something!
We worship and adore you.
Just when we think we have worked it all out, you surprise us!
Gracious God, we are truly blessed by you.
Thank you, that as we bow down humbly at your throne, we know that only you can satisfy our needs.
Praise you, Lord God.
Amen

Prayer of the Week 1 August 2021

Christ our Lord, your word says that we should cast all our anxieties on you because you care for us.
We must not be anxious about anything,
but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
we should present our requests to you, and your peace, which transcends all understanding,
will guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus.
And so, Lord, we come as we are, trusting that you will give us your rest and peace in Jesus’ name.
Amen
