Morning Prayers Monday, 27 April 2020
Open my lips,O Lord, and my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
Psalm 51: 16
Come, let us bow down and bend the knee, and kneel before the Lord Our Maker.
Psalm 95:6
As the night ends, so a new day begins.
Lord,we thank you for another day.
We know not what the day holds for us,
for all those we know and all those not known to us.
Our hearts are troubled and our spirit weakend.
We ask you, sustain us with your bountiful spirit.
Give us the joy that only your ‘saving’ help can bring.
We know not what the day holds for us,
for all those we know and all those not known to us.
Our hearts are troubled and our spirit weakend.
We ask you, sustain us with your bountiful spirit.
Give us the joy that only your ‘saving’ help can bring.
Merciful God, we know you will not despise us,
as your sacrifice is our troubled spirit and our broken and contrite heart.
We are weakened and found often to be helpless as we confront COVID-19
and we seek you Lord for we knowing you are near.
With all our imperfections.
as your sacrifice is our troubled spirit and our broken and contrite heart.
We are weakened and found often to be helpless as we confront COVID-19
and we seek you Lord for we knowing you are near.
With all our imperfections.
We know you are with us,
that you will answer us and make us bold and stout hearted.
that you will answer us and make us bold and stout hearted.
For you are a compassionate God who shows mercy;
to you be the glory and praise.
to you be the glory and praise.
We rejoice in your Holy name.
Amen
For through the living and eternal word of God you have been born again as the children of a parent who is immortal, not mortal. As the scripture says,
All men are like the wild grass,
And all their Glory is like it’s flower;
And all their Glory is like it’s flower;
The grass dies, and it’s flower falls off,
But the word of the Lord remains for ever.
But the word of the Lord remains for ever.
This is the word that the Good News brought to you.
1 Peter 1: 23–25
The Lord’s Prayer is said:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever.
Amen
Morning Blessing
When we are sleeping
watch is He aye keeping.
When we’re awaking
care still of us taking.
watch is He aye keeping.
When we’re awaking
care still of us taking.
He makes the light of His Grace to shine down …
