Morning Prayer Tuesday, 23 March 2021

Today, Tuesday 23 March – it is now one year since the PM announced news of the first lockdown. Let us reflect on the transformation of our lives into a life of servitude and love.

Psalm 19: 1-6

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth.

Your Glory spans the heavens, O God.
Each day, each night, teaches the next:; silently, wordlessly,
Your wonders fill the universe, rousing the sun from its tent
Challenging it to the marathon. The marathon of life.

As we prepare ourselves for the journey of transformation, Passion week into Palm Sunday then the week of sacrifice and penance, bearing witness to the trial, crucifixion and death and glorious resurrection – a glory that spans heaven and earth – God we surrender to your will.

The pandemic has caused us to reflect on what matters. God’s everlasting love! God’s love is gentle, sure and will never fail. His invitation to us all: experience His love.

Guide and nourish us Lord as we experience the journey of transformation.
Unchanging God we seek your forgiveness for failing You and our fellowmen.
Often we disobey your law to love our neighbour and ourselves.
To love is to trust, to be kind and forgiving.
Let us be thankful for all the love and grace we have received.
We come to You, Lord, have mercy upon us.
Jesus, Saviour of the world intercede for us.
Amen
