Prayers for Wednesday 12 August 2020

Lord we marvel at your wonder smile upon us
Help us not to allow our wounded feelings to grow into worries
Love, kindness, generosity is God’s gift to us
It is amazing what difference it makes when we show love, and to be kind and generous
God we praise you who brought us out of the depths of despair
We praise thee oh God, who has freed us that we might learn to live in unity
We have now learnt a new way of living and communicating
We praise thee oh God who has encourage us to break our silence when we know of a wrong
Let all mankind unite and sing out the praise to God
You have made us to be a peaceful people
We need to work harder at promoting peace
Help us not to despise your gift of peace

John 14 verse 27

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you

We are living stones Lord, please hold us in your loving arms
And keep us close to you
We place our trust in You because we know that we can rely on you
There is really nothing we need to know or understood
When we place our trust in You

Isaiah 26 Verses 7,8

Lord You make the path smooth for your people;
You level the road they travel
We follow your will and put our hope in you
You are all that we desire

Oh Blessed Lord, hear our prayer
And keep all of us in Your care.
You are so great. show us how to respond you
Whatever lies ahead of us you will see us safely through
For no earthly pain is ever too much
If God bestows His merciful touch.
Bless us Lord, with childlike faith
That our heart will belong to You

Psalm 91: verses 1,2,3

Whoever goes to the Lord for safety
Whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty
can say to him
You are my defender and protector
You are my God in you I trust
You will keep me safe from all hidden dangers
And from all hidden diseases

1 Timothy 4 verses 4 and 5

Everything that God has created is good;
nothing is to be rejected,
but everything is to be received with prayer of thanks
Because the word of God and the prayer
make it acceptable

Take nothing for granted
For whatever you do
The joy of enjoying is lessened for you
For we rob our own lives much more than we know
When we fail to respond or in any way show
Our thanks for the blessings we receive daily
The warmth of the sun
The fragrance of flowers
The beauty of twilight.
The freshness of dawn
The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn
For the joy of enjoying and the fullness of living
Are found in the heart that is filled with thanksgiving

INTERCESSIONS

Lord as we follow you may we not turn back
We pray for all our ministers and our ecumenical partnership which we take for granted.
We pray for all involved in preparing the church building for worship
We pray for all living stones that we may keep our faith alive
We pray for all who helped us start our day with devotions
and draw our day to a close with thanksgiving
We pray for all residents of Milton Keynes that God will work in their lives and guide their path
Thank you God for the many blessings you have bestowed upon us, refresh our minds and draw us close to you.
Lord hear our prayers and forgives us our failings to you and to each other. Our way of living has changed but the love of God has not
May God bless you all and remember love, hope and kindness is not on lockdown

Amen
