Evening Prayers Saturday, 30 May 2020

A reading from Psalm 92

1 It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
2 proclaiming your love in the morning
  and your faithfulness at night,
3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.

4 For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
5 How great are your works, Lord,
  how profound your thoughts!

Psalm 92: 1–5 NIV®

We praise you, O Lord, and we thank you for all that you have done for us.
As we come to the end of this day,
let us pause and remember all the good things that have befallen us.
Let us take time to count our blessings,
and to remember with gratitude all the kindnesses that we have received.
We give thanks, too, for all the opportunities we have had
to show love and kindness to the people we have encountered today.

We thank you, Lord, for all the workers in the health and social services,
keeping up the fight to provide care and comfort for the sick, the elderly and the vulnerable.
We entrust all these workers to your care and protection.
Give rest this night to all those who have worked throughout the day
and be with all those who will be working through the night.

We proclaim your faithfulness this night,
and commit into your care ourselves, our loved ones, and all your children.

We end our prayers this evening by saying the Grace together:

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the love of God
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit
be with us all, evermore.

Amen
