Prayers for the Day, Thursday

Good morning to all Livingstone and friends of Cornerstone

This prayer is based on Acts Chapter 4, verses 12 to 17 taken from the Good News Bible

12Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us.”

13The members of the Council were amazed to see how bold Peter and John were and to learn that they were ordinary men of no education. They realized then that they had been companions of Jesus. 14But there was nothing that they could say, because they saw the man who had been healed standing there with Peter and John. 15So they told them to leave the Council room, and then they started discussing among themselves. 16“What shall we do with these men?” they asked. “Everyone in Jerusalem knows that this extraordinary miracle has been performed by them, and we cannot deny it. 17But to keep this matter from spreading any further among the people, let us warn these men never again to speak to anyone in the name of Jesus.”

Saviour of the world we seek your grace.
You have taught us to treat others with kindness, and compassion.
Grant that we who strive to do your will, may find solace in you.
You have given us the free gift of love, and salvation that comes from You alone.
We need to communicate with each other in order to bring about the change required to serve you and others, even when we do not find it easy.
At present we are going through deep distress and despair, at a pandemic we find difficult to understand and treat, be merciful to us we pray.

Saviour of the world be our refuge, give us clear vision to recognize that we are responsible for protecting our planet.
May we have eyes to see that every human being is your creation.
Bless every effort that we make to reach out to others.
Grant us your wisdom and guidance to have empathy for those fleeing danger and hunger.
We give thanks and praise to you Almighty Father

We bring to you our prayer for Rev Eric Allan, minister and friend to all.

Strengthen our ministers and all who work and help to keep the community together.

We ask that you listen to our prayer and have mercy upon us.

Bless our lives and our day so that we can serve with dignity and honesty.

AMEN

Martha George
