Prayers for the Day, Monday

Today as we think of our world, and I say our world because, the Lord God made the world and appointed us as care- takers, God wants us to be happy, and to enjoy the work of His hands.  God’s Spirit is within us, it nourishes our inner being, and gives us hope.

Lord, may we have respect for the world, ourselves and for each other.  Your way Lord, is the way of peace.  Matthew 7 v 7.  “Ask, and you will receive, seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

We ask for your guidance in all that we do, to maintain peace in the world.  Touch the heart of our leaders, transform their lives, that they will be true and faithful to the citizens they serve.

There is much disunity among us, we ask your forgiveness and ask that you fill our life with grace, that we act out our life in love and a humble heart.

ISAIAH 2, verses 1:5 taken from the Good News Bible

Everlasting Peace

This is the message which God gave to Isaiah son of Amoz about Judah and Jerusalem:
In days to come
the mountain where the Temple stands
will be the highest one of all,
towering above all the hills.
Many nations will come streaming to it,
and their people will say,
“Let us go up the hill of the LORD,
to the Temple of Israel’s God.
He will teach us what he wants us to do;
we will walk in the paths he has chosen.
For the LORD’s teaching comes from Jerusalem;
from Zion he speaks to his people.”

He will settle disputes among great nations.
They will hammer their swords into ploughs
and their spears into pruning knives.
Nations will never again go to war,
never prepare for battle again.
Now, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light which the LORD gives us!

God established a simple prayer for us to communicate with Him, we honour you Lord, our creator.

Our Father in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, grace and fulfillment
Forgive us our tresspasses, help us to forgive in the way that you do
Lead us, so we are not distracted into temptation, deliver us from all that is evil
Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever
AMEN

Psalm 130

1 From the depths of my despair I call to you, LORD.
2 Hear my cry, O Lord;
listen to my call for help!
3 If you kept a record of our sins,
who could escape being condemned?
4 But you forgive us,
so that we should stand in awe of you.

5 I wait eagerly for the LORD’s help,
and in his word I trust.
6 I wait for the Lord
more eagerly than watchmen wait for the dawn —
than watchmen wait for the dawn.

7 Israel, trust in the LORD,
because his love is constant
and he is always willing to save.
8 He will save his people Israel
from all their sins.

We all need support at present, we all need each other. We ask You Lord, God of the world May we receive your healing.  In you we trust Lord, dwell in us and give us your peace

Amen
