We come together today to give thanks for a safe night, and ask your blessing upon us as continue our journey for the day.
Prayer of Thanksgiving
Psalm 138
I thank you, Lord with all my heart;
I sing praise to you before the gods.
I face your holy Temple, bow down and praise your name
because of your constant love and faithfulness,
because you have shown that
your name and your commands are supreme.
You answered me when I called to you;
with your strength you strengthened me
All the kings in the world will praise you, Lord
Because they have heard your promises
They will sing about what you have done
and about your glory.
Even though you are so high above,
you care for the lowly
and the proud can’t hide from You
When I am surrounded by troubles,
You keep me safe
You oppose my enemies
and save me by your power.
You will do everything You have promised;
Lord, your love is eternal
complete the work that You have began
Almighty and everlasting God, thank you for the wonder of life, the miracle of breath, for good health, for friends and family
We pray to you for relief from this pandemic, we know that it is not something that we can demand of you, we humbly ask if it is your will Lord, hear our prayer.
Help us to have hope so that our faith and love can be strengthened
We take a few deep breaths, then a few moments of silence to allow the Holy Spirit to be implanted with us.
Lord may we be transformed into the people you want us to be
We recite Mary’s song of praise (taken from Good News Bible)
My heart praises the Lord;
my soul is glad because of God my Saviour,
for he has remembered me, his lowly servant!
From now on all people will call me happy,
because of the great things the Mighty God has done for me.
His name is holy;
from one generation to another
he shows mercy to those who honour him.
He has stretched out his mighty arm
and scattered the proud with all their plans.
He has brought down mighty kings from their thrones,
and lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and sent the rich away with empty hands.
He has kept the promise he made to our ancestors,
and has come to the help of his servant Israel.
He has remembered to show mercy to Abraham
and to all his descendants for ever!
The Lord is our deliverer, He will rescue us from the pestilence, He will not hide from us. He will fill the empty gaps of loneliness, fear, grief, despair, we need not be troubled. We thank you Lord that you are with us, God of compassion comfort us, give us the courage to encourage each other. May the Lord support us and give us joy and renew our smile and joyous laughter.
Father, we ask a special blessing upon the youth of the world, that they will get to know you better, deliver them from evil
May God’s grace be with us all today and always
Amen
Martha George
