Category: Prayer of the Week
Lord of all the world, we thank you for creating human life in its rich diversity.
Weave the separate strands of our unique communities into a tapestry of trust and hope,
so that all of creation will experience the fullness of your peace.
Amen
God of surprises,
help us to find you in the hidden and the unexpected.
May we see you in the small actions that make a difference, and discern your love at work when your presence is hidden.
Help us to know your life giving power so that we might flourish and bear fruit in our own lives and communities.
Amen
God of all life, you live and breathe in creation, walking with us in the garden of your world.
In Jesus you share our human story, challenging us to see life differently. You empower us with the vitality of your Spirit, renewing us day by day.
Thank you that you welcome us and that you walk with us.
Amen
Loving God, where people are hungry for bread or for truth;
where people are sick in body or mind;
where there is conflict or division;
where people are lonely and despairing;
where there is good news to be shared, you call us to go.
May we be the ones who will say, ‘Here am I, send me.’
Amen
Lord God, thank you that you did not leave your disciples on their own,
but sent your Holy Spirit to breathe life, confidence and authority into their hearts.
Come to our world today.
Transform it afresh and fill our hearts with the power of your redeeming love.
Amen
Almighty God, you unite us, you pray for us.
You protect us, you commission us.
You know us and you love us.
You surround us and hold us in your power, grace and truth.
We praise you with all that we have and all that we are.
Amen
God of all families and nations,
we give thanks that we are held together by love;
love that makes us one.
So help us, dear Lord, to cherish that gift,
and to celebrate the even greater gift that is the love you have for us all.
We pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen
Gracious God, in whose hands creation is held,
the world is cherished and the Church is nurtured,
we thank you that, rooted and united in Jesus Christ,
our diversity can flourish, the fruit of our prayers can ripen
and the needs of the world can be nourished.
Amen
We thank you. Lord, that even when times are hard, you are with us.
Even if we forget you, you do not forget us.
Even if we can’t always agree, you remind us of our oneness in you.
Even when we are undeserving, you hold nothing back.
We give you thanks with one voice, and we praise you.
Amen
