Happy are those who live by the light of God, who walk in the way of Jesus Christ, and who worship in spirit and in truth. For they praise God by the good they do, they glorify Christ by their faithfulness, and they witness to God’s spirit of love. And we too come to worship God through Jesus our saviour.

Amen

Loving God, you make us in your image.
Forgive us when we fail to see your image in each other,
when we give in to greed and indifference,
when we do not question the systems that are life-denying.
As we are made in your image,
let us live in your image and be Christ-like
in service, endurance and love.

Amen

Holy Spirit, deepen
our understanding of who Jesus is,
Deepen our love for Him,
Let praise and worship well up within us.
Amen

O triune God, what an exciting mystery we celebrate today, that you, our God, are three persons in one being! Your essence is so awesome, it is beyond our understanding. Keep us as your own, and each day move us to declare: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty! We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Saviour, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit in perfect harmony.

Spirit of God, come to us now,
so that, in this time of Pentecost,
the sparkling light of faith,
the rushing wind of hope
and the joyful sound of praise
may echo round the world,
may echo in the church, and find their response in us.

Amen

Women: The hour has come to let go of all that weighs us down, and to praise you for new beginnings.

Men: The hour has come to lay aside differences, and to praise you for new friendships.

Women: The hour has come to let go of all that holds us back, and to praise you for new opportunities.

Men: The hour has come to be confident in our faith, and to praise you for the ministry you entrust to us.

All: The hour has come to live as we pray in Jesus’ name.

Beloved God, grant us the courage, to upturn tables,
to live a life where faith and politics mix,
and through compassion and solidarity with the poorest among us,
we may indeed learn to be rich in love.

Amen

Knit us together, Lord Jesus, and draw us deeper into the Father’s love.
Open the rooms of our hearts that we may praise you, and be a people of welcome,
inspiring and encouraging others to follow your way of hope and peace.
When the journey of life gets tough
may we find strength for each new step and courage for each new day.

Amen

We praise you, Lord Jesus, for being the voice of peace when we are angry,
for being the voice of hope when we are afraid,
for being the voice of love when we feel rejected,
and for being the voice we can always trust at every stage of our life.
We give you our heartfelt thanks Loving God for the gift of Christ Jesus in our lives.

Lord of all, we praise and adore you, for you are indeed good. You hear the cries and the whispers of our hearts. You know every aspect of our lives and still love us with a love unfailing. You come and walk with us when we are distressed, sad and lonely. You invite us to know you better in the sharing of bread and wine, and we thank you for that privilege. We pray that we embrace it every day of our lives in Jesus, name.

Lord Jesus, we often have questions.
We don’t always find an answer,
but we know we can trust you with the worries inside us.
Help us always to look to you when we are unsure.
In your name we ask.

Amen

God of Easter and the giver of hope, we worship you.
You are indeed awesome and you shatter death.
The heavy stone was rolled away as it was no match for your strength
and so we come to you in trembling faith:
because you are God over all.
With thankful hearts full of joy we praise you for the gift of life –
even life after death promised us by his resurrection
which we celebrate this morning.

Jesus, Lord and King, we welcome you into our midst today.
You are the Alpha and the Omega, before all things and far beyond tomorrow,
the same yesterday, today and forever,
exploding all our preconceptions, our fears, our assumptions and expectations.
Enter our lives today, go before us, walk beside us;
may we always honour your name. May our voices join together to give you all our praise
for you are the king of Kings: the One who comes in the name of Lord

Loving God,
you have heard our complaints, our impatience.
Sometimes we become frightened when we move away from you.
Guide our hearts back to you.
Help us to think beyond our own wants
and to desire only to do your will.
Thank you for the many blessings in our life
and for the ways we feel your presence.

Amen

Lord, you are the restorer of our souls, our provider in times of peace and of trial. You nurture us, support and encourage us as a mother to her children. We thank you for your ever-abounding love and ask you to give us eyes of faith that we may choose your way in the face of so many choices. Help us to believe in your promises and to respond to your calling as children do to their mother in Jesus’s name.
