Beloved God,
as we gather here in the harbour of your safety
we thank you for fellowship and family.
We ask that you will strengthen us, restore us and inspire us with your love.
Lord, would you fill us with your peace
so that as we journey onwards
we would pour out your love and grace to others,
We ask that our souls would catch the wind of your spirit
so that we would take your promises to all the earth.
Amen

Beloved God, you have made us for yourself and our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you.
Pour your love into our hearts and draw us to yourself and so bring us at last to your heavenly city,
where we shall see you face to face: through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord who is alive and
reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
Amen

Generous God, grant us a vision of your world as your love would have it:
a world where the weak are protected, and none go hungry or poor;
a world where the riches of creation are shared, and everyone can enjoy them;
a world where different races and cultures live in harmony and mutual respect;
a world where peace is built with justice, and justice is guided by love.
Give us the inspiration and courage to build it, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

Eternal God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we come to your house alone and together.
We come willingly and with joy to worship your holy name.
With myriad thoughts, and with trillions of reasons, we dare to come,
because you call us to follow your son Jesus Christ – our saviour.
Thank you for welcoming us here this morning.
Amen

Mysterious God, Father, Mother, Parent, Son and Spirit,
one in three and three in one, we praise your holy name.
Names fight in our brain and scramble from our lips:
Jesus, Redeemer, Creator, Almighty, Abba, Eternal, Lord, Christ, Yahweh, Counsellor, Comforter.
However we see you and whatever we know of you, you are our God and we are your children.
We worship you, adore you, we give you our thanks and praise your holy name.
Amen

Spirit of God, come to us now,
so that, in this time of Pentecost,
the sparkling light of faith,
the rushing wind of hope
and the joyful sound of praise
may echo round the world,
may echo in the church, and find their response in us.
Amen

O God of earth and sky,
as Jesus came among us in Bethlehem to raise us up to heaven,
so today we recall his departing from us at Jerusalem to be in all places.
Though he is hidden from our sight,
enable us to abide in him
by the power and grace of the Holy Spirit,
until his mercy and grace fill your whole creation

Amen

Merciful God, you have prepared for those who love you such good things as pass all understanding.
Pour into our hearts such love towards you that we, loving you above all things,
may obtain your promises, which exceed all that we can desire:
through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Amen

Loving God, just like the first disciples, we abide in your love –
for you have sent your Spirit to us. Just like the early apostles,
we have seen your glory in the person of your Son.
So, we confess Jesus Christ as Lord, for we have known him in our lives
and believe what he has shown us of your love
Amen

Jesus, Lord and Master, you call us by name.
Open our ears to listen to your calling;
help us to be open to your Holy Spirit in new ways.
Enable us and all who hear your call to ministry
to give ourselves generously to your service
in the Church and in the World.
Amen

Almighty God, reveal yourself to us
as we listen to your word in Scripture and preaching,
and respond to you in prayer and song.
Make yourself known to us,
as we recall the stories of our faith
and witness to the faith we have in you.
Help us to recognise you in one another
in the fellowship we share.
Amen

When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house were locked,
Jesus stood among them and said: Peace be with you!
Lord, we recognise your presence with us now.
We acclaim you as our risen Saviour.
May your peace be with us as we gather to worship and sing your praise.
Amen

As we celebrate his resurrection,
we remember his life.
As we await his return,
we surrender our hearts fully to God.
Lord Jesus, you show us
there is no wound too deep,
and no hurt too unbearable
that you cannot heal.
Risen Christ, show us how we can act in faith,
live in hope and serve those who are broken and poor in the world.
Amen

Merciful God,
as we enter this holy week and gather at your house of prayer,
turn our hearts again to Jerusalem,
to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ,
that, united with Christ and all the faithful,
we may one day enter in triumph the city not made with hands,
the new Jerusalem, eternal in the heavens,
where, with you and the Holy Spirit, Christ lives in glory for ever.

Self-giving God, who in Christ gave yourself for our salvation,
thank you that you call us into your mission for the world.
Inspire us, who are partners in the gospel, to follow in your steps,
in the way that leads to fullness of life in you.
