Category: Prayer of the Week
God of yesterday, tomorrow and today,
we are children of the world you love and care for.
We praise you, heavenly Father, for calling us into relationship with you.
We praise you, Lord Jesus, for the power of your name and the protection of your prayers.
We praise you, Holy Spirit, for your guidance and gifts that enable us to draw others to you.
For you are faithful in times of uncertainty, strong when we are weak,
and the breath of all our being, the energy of all our doing and the peace of all our resting.
Amen
God of all,
we give you thanks for the gift of friendship: for the giving and the receiving;
for the opportunities and the challenges; for the laughter and the tears;
for the conversations and the silence; for the moments and the memories.
Draw us deeper into your love, and bless us with the confidence
to proclaim Jesus as our dearest friend, teacher and Saviour.
We ask this in his name.
Amen
Eternal God, we come as one and we come together to draw from the source of your life giving love.
To reconnect with one another and with you.
To listen to your word.
To meet you in prayer and praise and to learn and grow as your faithful disciples in Jesus name.
Amen
Safe in the knowledge that we are loved, we come to the Good Shepherd, seeking succour for our souls.
Let not the wolves of this day snatch our thoughts and scatter them for our minds belong to Jesus and our hearts are open to him.
Amen
God our Father,
may we look forward with hope to our resurrection,
for you have made us your sons and daughters,
and restored the joy of our youth.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
Amen
We come, Lord, from a world confused about truth.
We come with our own uncertainties into the presence of God, who is light.
Let us bring the story of our search for truth and share in fellowship the things we have heard, seen and touched.
Amen
God of resurrection, ever renewing, ever reviving,
we adore you for your life-giving presence.
Son of Man, newly risen, sorrow made joy,
we adore you for your sacrificial living and dying.
Holy Spirit, breezing among us this Easter morn,
we adore you for breathing new life into us.
Amen
God who calls us on our journey, as we remember Jesus’ time in the wilderness,
help us to cast aside those things that get in the way of hearing your word.
Help us to seek you in the places of bounteous beauty and of barren bleakness.
Help us to seek you in the faces of friends and in the smiles of strangers.
Help our devotion to be made real in the actions of our lives.
When we have looked deep into our own hearts and struggled with who we are,
send angels to minister to us and draw us out from our own wilderness
to fulfil our calling to serve you.
In Christ’s name.

Almighty God, we ask you to show us something more
of who you are and how awesome your presence is.
Overcome our fear of the unknown and lead us into a new experience of you.
May our worship today be as on a mountain-top,
a transforming encounter that empowers our discipleship.
Amen
Set us free, O God, from the bondage of our sins,
and give us the liberty of that abundant life
which you have made known to us in your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ;
who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen
Christ the living word;
you are the source of all authority in heaven and on earth.
All that is and was, was made through you.
When you spoke in the synagogue, everyone was astonished by your authority
and the integrity of your words.
You spoke your sacrificial authority on the cross
and thereby broke the barriers created by sins.
Help us, who are imprisoned by the slavery of sin,
to speak with integrity and authority into the situations of life that demand your light.
By the authority of your name, help us to approach God’s Throne of Divine Mercy
knowing our sins are forgiven in your name.
Amen
