Praise be the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, he gave us new birth into a living hope, the hope of an inheritance, reserved in heaven for YOU, which nothing can destroy or spoil or whither.

Most merciful God, we your Church confess that often our spirit has not been that of Christ.
Where we have failed to love one another as he loves us,
where we have pledged loyalty to him with our lips and then betrayed, deserted, or denied him;
we humbly ask you to forgive us.
And by your Spirit make us faithful especially during these very trying times;
through his overcoming name we pray.
