Prayers for Wednesday Evening 5 August 2020

Good evening Living Stones. As we come together to thank God for protecting us all through the day and as we prepare to go to bed with grateful and thankful hearts. What can we give Him, but love. Listen to what he has to say, embrace His gift of love, invite Him into your life.

Romans: 3, verse 20: Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come.

Living God we invite you into our lives to live and work, to mould and reshape, that we as living stones fortified by your grace will embrace you as our constant companion

We ask your grace that we may please thee as blessed children ought to please their heavenly Father. You are the mighty one the Alpha and the Omega

God our Father give us grace to do those things that make Thy name holy in us.

Lord God our Father, we beseech thee heartily, through thy gracious mercy that we may come to thee and see thee in thy kingdom, that is the bliss of Heaven.

Lord God our Father, give us grace to do thy will here on earth for into thy hands Lord, wholly we put ourselves.

Glory be to Thee, O God, for Thy manifestation of love to mankind, You are our life and Light, guide us in Thy way and make us free from all, save Thee.

Teach us thy Oneness and give us a realization of thy Unity, that we may see no one, save Thee. Thou art the Merciful and the giver of bounty!

Create in our hearts, O Lord the fire of thy love, that it may consume the thought of everything, save Thee. Unite our heart and reveal to us Thy great purpose. Guide our steps by the Light of Thy knowledge, and cheer our hearts by thy love.

Amen

PRAY FOR TROUBLING COVOID TIMES

Psalm 57 verse 1, Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in thee my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of thy wings I will take refuge; till the storms of destruction pass by.

When the storms of life gather darkly ahead,
I think of these wonderful words I once read
And I say to myself as threatening clouds hover,
Don’t fold up your wings and run for cover
But like the eagle spread wide your wings
And soar far above the troubles life brings,
For the eagle knows that the higher he flies
The more tranquil and brighter become the skies,
And there is nothing in life God ever asks us to bear
That we can’t soar above, on the wings of prayer

Dear God, give my prayers the power of an eagle’s wing. Give me the tenacity of an eagle and the courage to ride out the storms of life, to soar above the threatening clouds and to locate the shelter that You alone provide.

GOD CARES

God cares what happens to His world, He cares what happens to us we take solace in that. He is the lifeboat to a sinking ship. God always gives a second and third chance, yes, He offers life to everyone. When on the cross a repentant sinner asked for forgiveness his response was “This day you shall be with me in paradise”. Luke 23 verse 43

Jesus knew that God cared which is why he pleaded to his father to forgive them for they know not what they are doing. God wants the best for us even when our action is not what it should be he provides opportunities for repentance.

I’m way down here! You’re way up there!
Are you sure You can hear my faint, faltering prayer?
For I’m unsure of just how to pray
To tell you the truth, God, I don’t know what to say
I just know I am lonely and vaguely disturbed
Bewildered and restless
Confused and perturbed
And they tell me that prayer helps to quiet the mind
And unburden the heart
For in stillness we find, a newborn assurance
That someone does care
And someone does answer each small sincere prayer
As you prepare to go to bed living stones
may you have a restful night
God’s love and joy

Let us remember in prayer Rev Ernesto, Rev George, Mark, Adrian, Ian, all who have given up time to pray with us, to share display of flowers, videos and kind words we have never been so closely united. Covid-19 has left us with no option but to unite and remember each other in prayer.

We remember the people of the whole world in particular those who are vulnerable, the bereaved

We say the prayer we were taught, the most powerful prayer of all time

Our Father, Father of us all, praise be your name

Your kingdom, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven

Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those you trespass against us. And be with us when temptation is near deliver us from the evil that surrounds us. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever Amen
