Greetings….
Call to worship…
Leader: Come to worship Jesus Christ, the faithful witness.
The firstborn of the dead. The ruler of the kings of the earth!
People: Bread of Heaven, God with us!
Good Shepherd, True Vine!
Eternal Word, Great I AM!
Wonderful Counsellor, Prince of Peace!
We come to worship Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords!
To him be glory and honour forever and ever!
Amen.
Hymn
Praise my soul the king of heaven
Prayer:
God of Eternity, we stand with the courage of those who insisted, even in perilous times, that not even the most powerful rulers of this earth hold our eternal destiny in their hands. We are secure in Christ, whose reign is just, whose power is endless, and whose love is unfathomable. God of Eternity, we join the chorus of saints who continue to declare that Christ is our King.
Amen.
Reading
2 Samuel 5:1-3
All the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, ‘We are your own flesh and blood. 2 In the past, while Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord said to you, “You shall shepherd my people Israel, and you shall become their ruler.”’
3 When all the elders of Israel had come to King David at Hebron, the king made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord, and they anointed David king over Israel.
Song
Have you been washed.
Reading
Luke23: 35-43
35 The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, ‘He saved others; let him save himself if he is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One.’
36 The soldiers also came up and mocked him. They offered him wine vinegar 37 and said, ‘If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.’
38 There was a written notice above him, which read: this is the king of the jews.
39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!’
40 But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Don’t you fear God,’ he said, ‘since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.’
42 Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’
43 Jesus answered him, ‘Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.’

As your family Lord
The Meal of Covenant:
Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. ..He continued Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11.28–30
Invitation to the Table
Approach the Lord’s table, not because you must but because you may, not because you are strong, but because you are weak. Come, not because any goodness of your own gives you a right to come, but because you need mercy and help. Come, because you love the Lord a little and would like to love him more. Come, because he loved you and gave himself for you. Come and meet the risen Christ, for we are his Body
Prayer
Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hidden: cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy name; through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Institution:
The apostle Paul tells us of the institution of the Lord’s Supper: For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said: This is my body that is will be given for you. Do this in always in remembrance of me. In the same way, after supper he took the cup saying: This cup is the new covenant in my sealed in my blood. Drink from it all of you always in remembrance of me.
Thanksgiving:
Loving God, we praise and thank you for your love shown to us in Jesus Christ. We thank you for his life and ministry, announcing the good news of your kingdom and demonstrating its power in the lifting of the downtrodden, healing of the sick, and the loving of the loveless. We thank you for his sacrificial death upon the cross, for the redemption of the world, and for your raising him to life again, as a foretaste of the glory we shall share. We give you thanks for this bread and wine, symbols of our world and signs of your transforming love. Send your Holy Spirit, we pray, that we may be renewed into the likeness of Jesus Christ and formed into his Body. This we pray in his name and for his sake.
Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever.
Amen.
The Breaking and sharing the Bread.
Friends, this is the body of Christ given for you; eat always in thanksgiving and in memory of his sacrifice for us. Amen.
The Lifting of the Cup:
Friends, this is the cup of salvation and new covenant between you and God sealed in Christs blood; let us drink with thanksgiving. Amen.
Words of Acclamation
Your death, O Lord, we commemorate. Your resurrection we confess. Your final coming we await. May glory and honour come to you! Loving God, we give you thanks and praise, that when we were still far off you met us in your Son and brought us home. Dying and living, he declared your love, gave us grace, and opened the gate of glory. May we who share Christ’s body live his risen life; we who drink his cup bring life to others; we whom the Spirit lights give light to the world. Keep us firm in the hope you have set before us, so we and all your children shall be free, and the whole earth live to praise your name; through Christ our Lord.
Amen

The Grace:
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
Amen.
