Daily Prayers Friday, 4 November 2022
Welcome to our Friday prayers.
Today, we begin our prayers with a psalm of praise, Psalm 98.
1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvellous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
9 let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.

Gracious God, we thank you for your presence with us, sharing our joys and our sorrows, noticing when we are anxious and calming our fears.
Teach us to look to you for strength and guidance.
We pray for all who are anxious – grant them your peace.
We pray for all who are sick – lay your healing hand on them.
We pray for all who mourn – comfort them, and bring peace to their hearts.
We pray for all who are burdened by guilt – help them to reach out for your forgiveness.
We pray for all who feel lonely – bring them the comfort of your presence.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen
So we conclude our time together by saying the Lord’s Prayer:
Our father in heaven
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours
now and forever.
Amen.
