Daily Prayers Tuesday, 11 October 2022
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
We approach you today with grateful hearts but also approach you bearing the burdens of each other at Cornerstone and also of our world.
In our country and our world, our attention is constantly drawn to the pain and hurt, to scarcity and lack.
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
We want to pause and remember all the many blessing that proclaim your presence, your love and commitment to your people.
The sun rises day after day
We have air to breath
The beauty of autumn colours surrounds us
We have each other
We have your spirit
We return thanks.
These and many other blessings remind us you remain present in your world. This gives us courage and faith to pray and ask that you will help all people to live by your Kingdom values.
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
We ask that political and other leaders all around the world will pursue peace and prosperity for everyone. We pray especially for those who are suffering directly as a result of the war in Ukraine and Russia. We remember those who have lost loved ones in the most recent bombings – we also remember many others who experience loss in wars that are forgotten by the world and international media. Lord, help us all to seek peace – to understand that you made us free and that all peoples need and deserve freedom and self-rule.
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
We remember those who have also loved ones in Ireland due to the explosion at the petrol station. We know that there are many communities that are experiencing loss – both known and unknown to us. Lord to all these, be comfort and strength.
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
At home in our community of Cornerstone, we remember all who are ill. We ask for your hand of healing on them.
Open our eyes and ears to each other’s needs – there likely are some among us who us who are suffering loneliness or lack basics. Help us to be Christ to one another; help us to be the answer to each other’s prayers.
Hear us, Lord; we seek your grace and mercy.
As we go out today, help us to keep our focus on you and on whatever in your world and in each other is admirable, excellent or praiseworthy.
We ask all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
